Here's how we're taking action in our community:
We are going to announce our goal of collecting pet food for the homeless at our school assembly, we are going to send a flyer out to parents announcing our goal, we are going to place signs up at school announcing our goal and we are going to place boxes around school to collect the food, After we collect the food we are going to deliver it to an animal shelter and to a homeless shelter.
Here's how we got the idea:
We saw a collection site at an animal hospital
These are the steps we took:
We asked our troop leaders to help us register with our school and with Ripple kids, we practiced our speach with our troop, we made signs, we made boxes, we made flyers, we placed the signs and boxes and we delivered the food.
Here are some of the results:
We gathered many boxes of food for homeless people!
One of the coolest things that happened during my project was:
we gave pet food to people who needed it
One of the most important things I learned was:
Helping people feels good
