Here's how we're taking action in our community:
For the past 3 years at Arroyo I have raised money for the Community Veterinarian Hospital in Garden Grove. Their Angel Fund is currently helping shelter animals with surgery at a reduced cost. This year while selling Otter Pops after school for 4 days we raised $230 dollars. We also collected used blankets for the bottom of the Animals crates that will comfort them while they heal.
Here's how we got the idea:
Everyone loves Otter Pops and last year we sold Lemonade and Otter Pops and by far the Otter pops were most popular.
These are the steps we took:
Found some friends that wanted to help. Organized with their parents and worked with Ripple kids coordinator at Arroyo. Purchased the otter pops and froze them in the teachers freezer. Made poster signs for our table selling Otter Pops as well the bin that collected the blankets. Lastly we visited the animal hospital to give them our donation.
Here are some of the results:
Raised $230 dollars and a plastic bag full of blankets.

One of the coolest things that happened during my project was:
presenting money to the Animal Hospital and seeing sick animals that would benefit from our money.
One of the most important things I learned was:
Otter Pops are great to raise money with.
