Here's how we're taking action in our community:
Ava grider and I asked if we could raise money for shelter animals by having a silly sock day. Any person wearing silly socks, can be eligable to win silly socks, after they donate a dollar.
Here's how we got the idea:
My mom works at the shelter snd I learned about a dog that needed her leg amputated and the cost was in the 1000s. I wanted to help raise money toward their noble program which finds expensive medical treatment for shelter animals.
These are the steps we took:
Talked to the principal and made posters. Put up the posters and made an announcement at our school friday flag salute. Collected the dollars and went to the shelter to donate the money.
Here are some of the results:
Approximatley 100 students wore silly socks to school and ava g and I raised $115.00. The student that won silly socks were so happy. Eight students won the socks.
These are the people who volunteered with me:

One of the coolest things that happened during my project was:
Teachers came up tome and said that the fundraising idea was really unique and clever.
One of the most important things I learned was:
Animal medical costs are very high and we all should make sure that we take good care of them. I learned that all my close friends rallied to help me get the word out. Its good to have that kind of support.
