Here's how we're taking action in our community:
Visiting local parks to help protect and preserve the environment. My mom takes me to our local parks and I pick up after us and others. I talk to other children at school and parks telling them the importance of not littering. Sometimes, just by them watching my actions they too will help out.
Here's how we got the idea:
This summer, my family went to Sedona, AZ and the Grand Canyon. The Grand Canyon is one of the seven Natural Wonders of the world. We read that kids can learn to become Junior Park Rangers.
These are the steps we took:
1 We checked out the Grand Canyon and it was so big and amazing.
2 We checked in at the information desk.
3 I received a Junior Ranger Activity Book and had to begin reading and doing tasks like picking up trash to help with the environment.
4 I signed up for a Junior Ranger class, there were many kids in it.
5 I completed my reading, tasks, and class.
6 I met with a real park Ranger that looked over my work.
7 I raised my hand and pledged to protect all parks and to be a friend to my planet Earth.
Here are some of the results:
One of the most awe inspiring natural wonders in the world is located in Arizona. The Grand Canyon National Park is an experience you have to see in person to appreciate. Its an utterly amazing place to visit and WAY TOO BIG to walk and clean up by yourself.
I visited many different areas at this park and would find litter on the ground. Like wrappers and even a pizza box. I helped by picking up others trash and took an important class on protecting our environment and being a friend to planet Earth.
