Here's how we're taking action in our community:
My friend Emilia and I had a sale to raise money for building supplies for a homeless family in Mexico. Every year my family and I go to Mexico and build a house for a family.
Here's how we got the idea:
I go with a group from my church, so I got the idea there. I thought of the sale because it is something I can do to help raise the money.
These are the steps we took:
I prepared all of the cookies and lemonade and then set a table up in my front yard to sell the stuff.
Here are some of the results:
We made a lot of Hewes kids smile because they love cookies and lemonade. We always bring the needy families to tears when they get to walk in their new home for the first time.
These are the people who volunteered with me:
My friends, My family, An organization
One of the coolest things that happened during my project was:
Watching the families get their house. I also loved selling with Emilia because we are good friends.
One of the most important things I learned was:
Always help those in need because I am able.
