Here's how we're taking action in our community:
Our Daisy Troop earned our Rosie Petal- Make the World a Better Place, by raising money at our school's Ripple Fair to donate to the Surfrider Foundation.
Here's how we got the idea:
We all love to enjoy the beach and the ocean and want to make sure we can continue to do so. We also want to make sure the animals in the ocean are protected. The Surfrider Foundation works to protect the world's ocean, waves, and beaches.
These are the steps we took:
We made a poster about the Surfrider Foundation to display at our Ripple Fair booth. We also made beach themed bracelets, chocolate dipped pretzel rods, and glitter ocean soap to sell. We sold at our booth at school to raise money.
Here are some of the results:
We raised $110 total.
One of the coolest things that happened during my project was:
Working the booth together and seeing all the kids buy our product that we made.
One of the most important things I learned was:
That we need to keep our beaches clean so trash doesn't hurt the animals in the ocean.
