Here's how we're taking action in our community:
We helped raise money for the Guide Dogs of America.
Here's how we got the idea:
We had heard of another Pennies for Puppies campaign to raise money.
These are the steps we took:
We gave a presentation to our school, then we made posters to hang around the school and flyers to send home with students. We put containers in the classes to collect the money that was brought in. We passed out pencils and bookmarks to the students to remind them about when the money was due. We collected the money and went to the bank to have the money machine count it.
Here are some of the results:
We were able to raise $320 after 2 weeks.

One of the coolest things that happened during my project was:
We were able to raise lots of money.
One of the most important things I learned was:
We learned that it takes a lot of time for a blind person to learn how to use their guide dog. We also learned that it takes $50,000 to get a guide dog trained and ready for their owner.
